History
In the seventies, the Department of Crop Protection Chemistry at the University of Ghent started with research on pesticide residues. In the eighties, these activities were included in Alitech, which united all the commercial activities of the University of Ghent, involved with food analysis.
During the nineties, the routine activities of the lab significantly increased, partly due to the expansion of the residue legislation. Meanwhile, the quality standards for routine laboratories were also considerably reinforced.
On July 1, 2001 FYTOLAB had its official launch as an independent private laboratory and still holds today important accreditations and certifications.
FYTOLAB currently performs on a yearly base more then 100,000 analyses on more then 40,000 samples. The high technical level and excellent customer support forms the bases for a continuous growth. This was proven by a doubled turnover in 5 years time.
